An introduction to ski touring in Les Saisies offers a chance to discover a different way of exploring the mountains, far beyond the marked runs of the downhill ski area. Led by specialized instructors, this activity guides you through the techniques specific to ski touring, such as skinning up (ascending) and managing your physical effort.

Depending on the chosen outing and the day’s conditions, set out to explore the landscapes of Les Saisies and the Beaufortain massif, while benefiting from professional guidance to navigate the mountain environment with greater confidence and peace of mind.

An avalanche transceiver pack is provided as part of the service.

Duration and organization: several formats allow the introductory session to be tailored to your experience level and available time. You can choose a 3-hour session, a 4-hour half-day, or a full day (6.5 hours).

Outings tailored to your needs and preferences

The content of the outing can be adapted to the chosen format and the mountain conditions. For a first-time experience, the short format offers an introduction to the principles of ski touring. A longer outing provides more time to work on ascent techniques and fully enjoy the Beaufortain landscape.

Bring the ski touring equipment required for the outing, as well as a helmet and clothing suited to the weather conditions. Also, remember to bring a backpack, water, and a snack for each person so you can stay hydrated and keep your energy up during the activity.

Ski touring equipment at Les Saisies

We provide an avalanche transceiver pack for the activity. The instructor will explain how to use it and provide training on the safety equipment. Mountain sports insurance, such as “Carré Neige”, is also highly recommended before taking part in the outing.
